1. Access Microsoft Edge and Open the Bookmarks Menu.
First, ensure that you have Microsoft Edge installed and open on your computer. If you haven’t installed it yet, head to the official website to download and install the browser. Once installed, open Edge, and in the top-right corner, you’ll see the three dots (ellipsis) button, which is used to open the menu. Click on this button to open the browser’s menu options.
2. Open Bookmarks and Find the URL You Want to Edit.
In the menu, you’ll see an option labeled “Favorites” (or “Bookmarks“). Click on it to open the list of websites you’ve saved. Alternatively, if you prefer using a shortcut, you can directly click the star icon at the top of the browser to access the favorites list.
Once you’re in the bookmarks section, you’ll see all your saved websites. Let’s say you notice that one of the URLs is no longer valid, and you need to update it. Right-click on the bookmark link that you want to edit and select the “Edit” option. This will open up the edit menu where you can make changes to the bookmark.
3. Edit the URL and Save the Changes.
In the edit menu, you’ll see a field labeled “URL.” This is where the current URL of the bookmarked website is displayed. Simply erase the old URL and enter the new one in the field. Make sure the new URL is accurate and working properly. After you’ve made the changes, click the “Save” button. Now, the next time you click on this bookmark, it will open the updated website with the new URL.
4. Change the Name of the Bookmark.
In addition to changing the URL, you can also modify the name of the bookmark. Maybe you want to make the name shorter or more descriptive for easier access later. To change the name, simply edit the “Name” field in the edit menu. After you’ve updated the name, click “Save,” and the new name will take effect.
