How to Automate Your iPhone’s Low Power Mode with Shortcuts

iPhone batteries tend to drain quickly after prolonged use, especially as they age. Constant battery depletion not only interrupts your workflow but can also damage your battery over time. Fortunately, with the Shortcuts app on your iPhone, you can automate the switch to Low Power Mode when your battery reaches a certain percentage, eliminating the annoying pop-up prompt and ensuring smooth, uninterrupted usage.

1. Steps.

  1. Open the Shortcuts App: Begin by opening the Shortcuts app on your iPhone. Then tap the “Automation” tab at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Create a New Automation: Next, tap on “Create Personal Automation“. In the search bar, type “Battery“, and select the “Battery Level” option from the list.
  3. Set the Battery Percentage: Here, you can adjust the battery percentage trigger. For example, if you want Low Power Mode to activate automatically when the battery drops below 20%, set the battery level accordingly. For testing purposes, you can set it to 60%.
  4. Choose the Action: After setting the battery level, choose “Next“, then search for “Low Power Mode” as the action. Select “Set Low Power Mode“.
  5. Save the Automation: Click “Next“, review your settings, and tap “Done” to save your automation. Now, whenever your battery drops below the specified percentage, your iPhone will automatically switch to Low Power Mode without any interruptions.

2. Test the Automation.

  1. Once the battery level drops below your set percentage, the battery icon in the top right corner will turn yellow, indicating Low Power Mode is active.
  2. You can also verify this by going to the Settings app, where the Low Power Mode toggle will be automatically enabled.
  3. By automating Low Power Mode with Shortcuts, you ensure that your iPhone continues running smoothly without intrusive prompts, all while saving battery life and avoiding potential interruptions during important tasks.
  4. This smart automation gives you peace of mind, allowing you to focus on what matters without worrying about sudden battery drops.
